Week 20: gold hill renowned pogo sticker?

Image
Hi guys! What a good week! It was so busy and felt so long but looking back we were able to do so many awesome things. We officially only have one week of the transfer left which is exciting and a little nerve wracking. I love my zone and my ward here so I will be sad to go if I get transferred but we will see what happens! On Tuesday, we were able to help with young men's since they were doing a mini MTC. They asked and me and Sister Smith to help them with their door knocking approach which was so funny considering I have never been tracting. It was really fun to see have the different age groups did. The priests were so cocky and literally told me that Joseph Smith wrote The Book of Mormon so I went a little hard on them lol but the teachers were so chaotic it was hilarious but let's just say its a good thing they still have 4 years to practice. The Deacons on the other hand were so adorable. They knocked on the door and told me that I should read the BOM and that I could ...

Week 19: sophomore in the mission

Hi!!  I'm officially a quarter done with the mission which is so crazy. It feels like it has gone by so fast but also so slow. I've learned a lot of lessons and I'm doing really well. I'm excited to keep progressing and see more of the mission! This has been a hard transfer of adjusting to a comp that is so different from me as well as losing some really solid people that we were teaching. I've seen a lot of change in myself because of it and I'm grateful for the trials I've been given.  Highlights of the week! 1. We read the Book of Mormon to Jeff. He's such an odd guy but very sweet and we told him if he doesn't progress we have to spend our time somewhere else so this was the solution and we will hopefully do it a few times a week! 2. We were fed everyday single day, sometimes for 2 meals. Gold Hill has such an awesome ward and they are so giving. They take care really good care of us and in return we try to take really good care of them! 3. Pea...

Hi everybody! This week so was busy but it went by so slow. We had a lot of good stuff happen and some really good visits. We went to a lot of widows houses and had great lessons with them! It was so fun and it was super awesome being able to reach out to them and show them that they are loved.  Alsoooooo...WE GOT A BRAND NEW CAR. Its a 2021 Equinox so its pretty nice  Highlights this week! 1. Zone Conference! Zone conference is always so fun and we were able to have it combined with the Medford zone. We focused a lot on ministering to the people in our wards and the people were teaching which was really awesome! 2. Exchanges! Me and Sister Cosper were together for the day and we taught some good lessons and had a great time.  3. Pear farm! Almost all the zone was there which is always so fun!  4. We got to walk Winston! He's not a dog, he's a dawg.  5. President Weekes called to check up on me. It was really good and made me feel very loved.  6. The...

Week 17: Slow and steady

Hi everyone!! This was kind of a boring week but its always a good week being a missionary. Lol not sure how true that statement was but we will roll with it. Anyways, even though it was kind of slow we did a lot of good stuff!  On Tuesday I had my interview with my mission president and it was really good. Its always nice to talk with him and hear the advice he has for me. I was telling him about my struggles and he gave me the challenge to restart The Book of Mormon. I was kind of mad because I was almost done but he made me get a clean book and he wants me to finish the whole thing in 90 days while only marking references to Christ. I'm not sure how it exactly relates to what we talked about but when I figure it out I will let you guys know. Highlights of the week!!: 1. Pear farm!!! I didn't have to scrub toilets this time. Instead I shredded thousands of sheets of paper  2. District Council: we have a really good time together and our district leader Elder Lowe alwa...

Week 16: good week good service

Hi everyone!! This has been another good week! Its so crazy that I'm already on my 3rd transfer. I made the goal at the beginning of my mission to be honest in my emails so I'm going to do that. I have been struggling a lot recently and its been really hard. The mission is not easy and it takes a toll on you so I've been experiencing that first hand. I finally met with family services and it was really good to talk to someone. Im really grateful for all the people out here in Oregon that are helping me along the way and helping me to be the best missionary I can be.  Highlights this week!!: 1. We got to help administer vaccines and it was really awesome!  2. We got to walk more dogs! I love Linda's dogs they are the sweetest German shepards.  3. We were able to help at the Medford food project and helped package all the donated food.  4. I got to talk in church! Poor bro spencer forgot to schedule speakers so we were able to help him out last minute.  5. ...

Hiiii guys!!!! Well we got our transfer news yesterday! I am staying here in Gold Hill and my companion is going to the beach to be an STL! Super excited to stay in this zone.  Its so nice not having to pack and this ward is so amazing and filled with really awesome people. I feel really blessed to be here. This zone has been amazing and it was really hard saying bye to everyone that is leaving.  Highlights of the week!!  1. We got to help with temple yard work and while we did that we took a tour of the Rome temple which is really amazing!  2. We got to go the pear farm again this week. Don't ever trust the words "we have some special projects for the sisters" because it translates to scrubbing toilets and kitchens  3. We got to help with YWs. Kind of weird to be in that setting again but its a blast to the past seeing how the younger girls act and talk.  4. We got to film a video of our WML with the social media elders which was super fun. Again, a...
