Week 19: sophomore in the mission
Hi!!
I'm officially a quarter done with the mission which is so crazy. It feels like it has gone by so fast but also so slow. I've learned a lot of lessons and I'm doing really well. I'm excited to keep progressing and see more of the mission! This has been a hard transfer of adjusting to a comp that is so different from me as well as losing some really solid people that we were teaching. I've seen a lot of change in myself because of it and I'm grateful for the trials I've been given.
Highlights of the week!
1. We read the Book of Mormon to Jeff. He's such an odd guy but very sweet and we told him if he doesn't progress we have to spend our time somewhere else so this was the solution and we will hopefully do it a few times a week!
2. We were fed everyday single day, sometimes for 2 meals. Gold Hill has such an awesome ward and they are so giving. They take care really good care of us and in return we try to take really good care of them!
3. Pear farm! Always a party
4. A lot of good service. We took cookies to some of the ward and helped some non-members.
5. Had some awesome member lessons! I could gush about the ward all day, I love it a lot here and I will be sad to go.
Well, it was kind of a slow week but I was able to crank through a lot of The Book of Mormon which is awesome. I mentioned a few weeks ago the challenge my mission president gave me. I've only been marking references to Christ and it has been a really good reminder that Jesus Christ is in everything. I was talking with him about some of my struggles with my companion, my sleep, and my overall mental health, and when he gave me the challenge to restart the BoM and finish it in 90 days, I was so confused. He called me a little while back to check up on me and I asked why he wanted me to do this and he told me he was prompted by the Spirit. That really touched me because it just shows how much I needed this. The Book of Mormon is so incredible and I love sharing it with others. I feel really blessed to have such a sacred calling and represent my Savior each day.
I hope you all have a good week and are able to recognize all the tiny miracles that happen each day. Remember to pray, read your scriptures, and to wear your mask! I love you all!
Love,
Sister Crouch
