Week 30: Hanging in and hanging out
Heyy everyone!!
This was a good week!! Kind of slow, but really good. We taught a nice chunk of member lessons and have been making the most of our time here in Springfield!!!
I've been a little bit down in the dumps lately but I am ready to pull myself out of my funk and get cracking again. Missionary work and life is hard but the blessings that come from it are so worth it and I know I can finish the next 11 months strong!
Highlights of the week!:
1. We had interviews with President Weeks! Kind of fun but not really at the same time. It was good to see him though!
2. Our ward mission leader sent us to the house of an inactive lady and her non member husband was the only one home and he was working in his yard. We were like oh man should we go up but he already saw us so we just said a silent prayer and walked up...HE WAS SO NICE! We talked for an hour about life and Harleys and he invited us in for dinner and we set up service. I would like to publicly thank my dad for having a Harley because he said that was why he let us in lol.
3. Now this might not seem like a highlight but it kind of is. One of my favorite members Brother Lawrence passes away which is so sad and broke my heart a bit but he was so ready! It's an amazing thing to see someone get ready to move on to the next step of the Plan of Salvation. He was such an awesome man and I was so honored to know him!
4. We did a volleyball tournament in Eugene and had such a great time! We got fried but we had a good turnout and had a ton of fun!
Not gonna lie, I was super sad this weekend and cried a lot on the phone today. Its hard to miss out on big events back at home and see life go on without you. The mission is really hard and if someone tells you they are easy they are a filthy liar lol. I will hit my 7 months this Friday and it's crazy to think I've been out that long and its crazy to think I still have 11 months but I am so excited to see the things I can accomplish and the work I can do. The Lord's work is hard but it's more important than anything going on back at home or any of my personal needs or wants. I love and miss you all so much and I know I am where I need to be.
