Week 46: BURKINA FASO 2023 BABY

Image
Howdy howdy amigos It's another great week here in Eugene and things are going swell! I have another transfer under the belt and I am staying another transfer here in the Santa Clara area with my companion Sister Ngatuvai! Things are really starting to line up over here and a lot of the seeds we planted last transfer are starting to grow! It's the best.  Since we are on the bus, we are getting the ultimate Eugene experience and I wouldn't have it any other way! We are getting homeless people with knives, cat calls, and bashed left and right but it is all part of the grind haha! A few weeks ago I almost fought a basher at the bus station that was speaking in tongues to us and being really food and I told him several times we were done and then he accused me of threatening him which was hilarious since I came nowhere near him but enough of that haha. Just rest assured knowing I have no shame and when that backfires I carry pepper spray lol.  One of the coolest miracle...

Week 43??? Quick update

Hello everybody!!! I don't really have too much to report on this week! This transfer has flown by and it's honestly been my favorite one so far. My comp and the other 2 sisters we work with are having a blast and we are trying to grind as best we can! We don't have a car so we are bussing to  most places and we are meeting so many interesting people and having some cool conversations. We aren't allowed to bring up the gospel in person with people but if they ask its fair game so we are just going around and planting seeds. The main station is downtown so we are basically eating our way through Eugene which is not good haha. We are so broke haha but when Voodoo Doughnuts is 2 minutes away you get doughnuts lol. I also got a haircut last week and the lady cut 8 inches off my hair and I wanted to die smh  Unfortunately we don't have a teaching pool so we are trying to minister to everyone we can and serve wherever we are needed. We are hoping we can see some success...

Week 40: long live Gita the Tacoma

Hi guys :))) Another week of catch up but thats ok! It just means I'm having too much fun on pdays! A lot of stuff actually happened! I got transferred!! Again!!! I got shafted from Eagle Point and now I'm serving with Sister Ngatuvai in Eugene! It's so so so good. We are having a blast together and with the sisters in our ward share. This is going to be an awesome transfer. Eugene is an odd place and missionary work is slow here but I'm excited to see some miracles. I'm also without a car so we are walking and riding the bus which is so interesting! Like I said I'm gonna play some catch up since I've missed a few email so I'm just gonna bullet it! • we got to go to crater lake! It was so beautiful and amazing. The sweetest lady in our ward took us and she almost killed us like 5 times in the car but that's ok! I'm grateful nonetheless! • our ward did a pioneer day celebration and I was forced to wear a pioneer outfit by thr RS but it was all g...

Week 37: Who put a porta-potty in my garage!?

Image
Hello!!  Another week under the belt. Eagle Point has a lot of good stuff going and I'm teaching more than I ever have. We are having some really really good lessons and praying we see some success from them. I was able to invite someone to pray about baptism for the first time which was pretty cool! One of the best things about my last zone was that all of the elders and sisters were super close since we saw them all the time! Here, we are pretty far from everyone but it doesn't mean we are safe from pranks I guess lol. We got home from a long busy morning and we open our garage and there's a big old yellow porta-potty sitting in our garage. Im thinking who did this and how are we get this thing OUT. So we start making phone calls and no one knows anything about it but 4 of the elders confessed when they found out our housing coordinators wanted to file a police report lollll. Long story short the elders arranged for it to go back to its home and they got us a few tubs o...

Week 34?? Back to CP

Image
Heyy Everyone!  Sorry I missed a few weeks. Today was the first Pday I've had in months where I wasn't running around all over the place and it was so nice! As of Tuesday, I am no longer in Springfield! I am back to Central Point in the Eagle Point area with my new comp Sister Sarabia! Its a holy grail Sister area since we have a 3 bedroom house which is THE BEST and I'm living with my amazing trainer Sister Nuttall again which is a blast.  Some things that have happened the past little bit.  1. Had to say goodbye to an awesome zone! They are the best and I will miss Springfield a lot!  2. We are teaching so much here in Eagle Point and it is so awesome! I haven't had a solid teaching pool ever so its so refreshing to feel like I'm exercising my purpose.  3. Our mission got to meet virtually with Elder Bednar which was so cool. I was able to talk with him and make a comment on prayer which was really special.  4. Lots and lots of pickleball. I hope e...

Week 31:

Image
Hi everyone!! Hope everyone had a good week! Like always this week flew by which is a good thing! We are trying to stay as busy as we can and the work is slow but its progressing and thats what matters!  This week we had a mission tour and Elder Whiting of the Seventy was able to come to our mission and talk to us. His daughter is good friends with my brother and Sister in law so I was able to chat with his wife and she was so sweet!! He was a very interesting guy and he basically chastised us for 3 hours but it was what we needed. He told us we needed to redouble our convert baptisms which is a less daunting way of saying quadrupling our baptism sooo....yahhhh...kind of scary! It's seems so crazy but with God I know we can get there.  Highlights of the week!!: 1. Exchanges!!! I got to see another doodle and we had a really fun day full of lessons and service! 2. I got to hold some fun animals this week and pick and eat some fresh strawberries from a members yard. Growi...
